I have now had my corvette for one whole year! And it's been an awesome year because of it!!! To celebrate, my wife and I drove down to Monterey and took some photos in the same location we had our first real car photo shoot (view the blog photos here: http://andrewscorvette.weebly.com/blog/first-road-trip-monterey). A lot has changed in the last year between work, school, and overall life goals. This car has stuck beside me through it all and I am thankful! Here's to praying that this car sticks with me for many many more years!

My wife really wanted to go to Napa for her birthday. She LOVES wineries and was dying to visit one in particular called Castello di Amorosa. It's supposed to be just like a historic European castle. So off we went and here are the photos from our adventure. The actual wine tasting took place in the cellars and it was pretty cool to check them out! After we wine tasted, we happened upon this beautiful field of mustard flowers. My wife, being the photographer that she is, insisted we pull over for photos! And how can a trip to Napa be complete without a visit to the Bouchon bakery. So off we went there and I stood in line forever while my wife frolicked around to get photos. It sure was a great trip though and made for some great memories!
My wife's family lives in Grants Pass, Oregon so for Thanksgiving we took the corvette on it's first road trip up to Southern Oregon. It is a long drive and can get boring so having the corvette definitely made it more exciting! We arrived at my wife's parent's house and relaxed for awhile. The corvette sure looked good against the green tree-filled landscape! We had to stop and get Dutch Bros Coffee! It's yummy and we don't have them in California! So we definitely got our fill in the few days we were up there. My wife and I recently purchased this home. So while we were there, we got it ready for renting it out! It is our first home and we plan on moving here some day but in the meantime - we just enjoyed getting some photos in front! We can't help but think this is the cutest house! We were very excited to own it and finally be able to see it! We also stopped to see my sister-in-law and her family! They live on this beautiful plot of land in the country and have amazing views of the surrounding landscape. The kids enjoyed checking out the corvette but sadly are too young to get a ride with their uncle. Maybe one day soon! And then we were off again! Time flies when you're having fun! Hopefully we'll return again soon!
After a great visit in San Diego, it was hard to leave. But my wife and I were excited to explore some other CA cities on the way home: Santa Barbara & Solvang. Driving through LA was the worst. It was around noon on a weekday so one would make the assumption that everyone was already at work. But the roads were still stop and go - completely filled with cars. And it was so hot outside! My air conditioning works some but it's not super powerful. So this was the drop in the bucket that made me seriously want to do something to try and fix it. It was much welcome relief to finally arrive in Santa Barbara and enjoy some of the beautiful sites there! In Santa Barbara, we went to the beautiful court house and went up the tower inside. There were beautiful views of the city around. The rooftops were all Spanish tile. It was unlike anything we had ever seen!
My wife's friend, Niki, gave us a free parking pass to Cabrillo National Park. On our last day in San Diego we decided to go check it out. One the way there, we passed this amazing military cemetery, The Gettysburg National Cemetery, overlooking the ocean. We had to stop and explore it more! My wife got some photos of the corvette driving through.
Recently, my wife and I took a vacation road trip down the CA Coast. We were headed to San Diego but made some stops along the way. The day began with a long HOT drive down the I-5. It was very evident that the valley is in a state of serious drought. We passed by fields of fruit trees that had been uprooted and left to die. Such a sad site. Thankfully though we were just passing through and headed somewhere a bit cooler. With the coastal breezes and the beautiful beaches, Newport was a perfect destination for our first night.
This last weekend we drove down Highway 1 to Big Sur. My wife and I had driven this route several times together and were always left amazed by the beauty of the rocky coastline jetting into the ocean! Sadly, the day was overcast and the sparkling blue waters were a murky grey instead. It was still beautiful though - but in a different way. We drove the majestic roads and got some fun photos along the way.
Finally, as we approached Big Sur the sun came out and it was gorgeous! We stopped at the amazing restaurant Nepenthe and enjoyed the grand view over some wine and appetizers. It turned out to be glorious day and made the long drive there and back totally worth it! Right after I bought it - I wanted to get some good photos of it to show my family in Alabama. I cleaned it up and we went on our first road trip to Monterey and got the following photos.
