After a great visit in San Diego, it was hard to leave. But my wife and I were excited to explore some other CA cities on the way home: Santa Barbara & Solvang. Driving through LA was the worst. It was around noon on a weekday so one would make the assumption that everyone was already at work. But the roads were still stop and go - completely filled with cars. And it was so hot outside! My air conditioning works some but it's not super powerful. So this was the drop in the bucket that made me seriously want to do something to try and fix it. It was much welcome relief to finally arrive in Santa Barbara and enjoy some of the beautiful sites there!
In Santa Barbara, we went to the beautiful court house and went up the tower inside. There were beautiful views of the city around. The rooftops were all Spanish tile. It was unlike anything we had ever seen!
We also stopped by the Santa Barbara Mission. It was stunning!
Before we got back on the road, I was determined to get my AC fixed. We dropped by an Autozone where I got something to help fix it and it worked great! We went from being super hot in the car to being freezing cold! I was happy!
Shortly after leaving Santa Barbara, we arrived at the Danish town Solvang. My wife loves this town and was beyond excited to stop and visit. For some reason, we both were in the mood for a big Danish pretzel but we couldn't find any in all the shops and bakeries. We searched high and low throughout the town, and finally we found one. It was delicious!
After a nice visit in Solvang, we headed back to the Silicon Valley. It was great trip - especially since we took the Vette. We definitely saw a lot of beautiful sites and scenery. Now it's back to normal life until the next fun road trip!
